Someday, he hopes to see the Manhattan at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. ![]() When he finds a buyer, Chip Foose hopes to create a new niche combining hot rods with luxury cars. The Manhattan is a type of concept car looking for a buyer. The HemisFear is part muscle car, part supercar, and part custom vehicle. A limited edition production was announced at the SEMA 2006 show. That deal included seed money to build a real version of the HemisFear. In 2005, he signed a deal with RC2 Corp for a diecast version of the HemisFear. He worked on a chassis for a real version, but his efforts were limited by time constraints. His senior project model became the inspiration for the Plymouth Prowler. He created a 1:5 scale model that was featured in an issue of Hot Rod magazine. Chip wanted to create a car for a new, non-existing niche market. The Chrysler-sponsored senior project was to create a car for a niche market. Chip Foose designed the HemisFear as a senior project at the Art Center College of Design in 1990. The owners were lucky because Chip Foose designs are in such demand that his garage is overbooked. Then, one week later, the newly redesigned car would reappear. Chip, his team, and friends and family would create a story about the car's disappearance for the owner. The show focused on the surprise redesign of a worn out antique or collector car in one week. The show was picked up by Velocity and the Discovery Channel from 2012 until 2015. In 2004, he became the star of Overhaulin', which was originally on TLC from 2004 until 2008. In 1990, he graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. At 7 years old, Foose was working on cars at his father's design company. An American automobile designer, Chip Foose starred in Overhaulin', the Velocity reality television series. ![]() The cars are about 3 inches long and set to 1:64 scale. As expected from Mattel and Hot Wheels, these cars are made from high-quality diecast metal with exquisitely detailed paint. The set comes with a custom Mattel Hot Wheels plastic display case. It highlights Foose's unique style which blends classic car elements with futuristic concept car design. This limited edition Hot Wheels set was originally released by Mattel in 2001. Both cars feature authentic details such as Real Rider rubber tires. These cars are a coveted addition to many personal collections.
